Last updated on JULY 04, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Entry - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When Sales Quote Release (P420111) is used to generate a Sales Order with W line type, it does not copy the Production Number from the Sales Quote to the Work Order that is created.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. For this test we will use a Production Number Controlled Item PN-230.
  2. In the Production Number Structure (P34402) program Production Number Type has two segments with a dash (“-") as a separator.
    1. ITEM Segment 1
    2. CUST Segment 2
  3. Create a version of Sales Quote Entry (P4210) that generates a production number.
    1. Default Tab: Order Type = SQ
    2. Default Tab: Line Type = S
    3. Commitment Tab: Commit Quantities to Quantity 1 = 1
    4. Production No. Tab: Production Number Type = CT
    5. Production No. Tab: Production Number Generation = 1 (Generate Production Number)
  4. Create a Sales Quote (SQ)
    1. Enter Item and Quantity
    2. Enter Price for Quote
    3. Edit the line.
    4. Line Type S defaults from processing option
    5. Production Number is generated from the Item Number, Customer and Next Number
    6. Save the Quote.
  5. Create a version (SOWPN) of Sales Order Entry (P4210) with a W Line Type.
    1. Do not set the version to generate a production number, because you want the production number to come from the Sales Quote.
  6. Create a version (WPN) of Sales Quote Release (P420111)
    1. Order Type to Select = SQ
    2. Outgoing Order Type = SO
    3. SO Entry Version = SOWPN
  7. Run Sales Quote Release (P420111) version.
    1. Enter SQ Order and click Find.
    2. Row Exit to Release Full Quantity
    3. Warning Appears Bill of Material does not exist and Routing does not exist.
    4. Form Exit to SO Generation.
    5. Added Order Number field is populated.
    6. Take Form Exit to Customer Service.
  8. Customer Service Inquiry shows Production Number was copied from Quote to Sales Order. Take Form Exit to WO revisions.
  9. Select the Work Order and Row Exit to WO Details.
    1. Click on Addl Details 1 Tab and note that Production Number field is blank.

Production Number was Copied from SQ to SO

Production Number NOT Copied from SQ to WO
