E1: 77: 07: P051128 Self Service Time Entry Explanation Field (EXR) When Overridden, does not Retain the Override Value when the Timecard is Submitted (Doc ID 2949132.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 21, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Canadian Payroll - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When entering time into Self Service Time Entry, P051128 and the explanation field (EXR) is overridden, that value is not retained when the time entry record is submitted.  The EXR field initially defaults in the pay type description but there are times when an override in that field is necessary.  The value is retained when the record is saved but when submitted, the EXR value is changed back to the pay type description.

Steps:

  1. In P051128, Self Service Time Entry, enter a timecard and override the explanation field (EXR) with a value other than the pay type description.
  2. Save the record and verify the EXR override value is retained.
  3. Submit the record and the EXR field defaults back to the pay type description, which can be seen in F06116Z1 (time entry z file).
