E1: TR: AS400 Tools Release Upgrade To 9.2.6.5 or 9.2.7.0 Changes The Wrong Spec.ini Files And Fails With Porttest Errors (Doc ID 2953599.1)

Last updated on JUNE 07, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When changing the Tools release from 9.2.5.6. to 9.2.6.5/9.2.7.0, and the addendum does not have an underscore in the name (i.e. DV920FR) , the process does not rearrange the directories. Also for DV920, PD920, etc, the directories get rearranged even though those are not the environments the Tools Release has been applied to. Services will not start on the Tools release that was changed out.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. In Server Management Console, create an EnterpriseOne server instance with an addendum that does not have an underscore (ex: DV920FR, where FR is the addendum).
  2. Change the component to 9.2.5.6 or lower.
  3. Set up the spec file directory for the test:
    1. Rename the existing specfile/package directory
    2. Add the Central Object line to the specfile/spec.ini file
  4. Change the component to 9.2.6.5 or greater
  5. Start services and verify with PORTTEST and Server Logs
