Symptoms

When trying to apply the Planner ESU the installation process fails and the installer crashes with on screen error 
"JD Edwards EnterpriseOne installation has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
Investigation into the JDE.log shows the following:
