Symptoms

When reviewing the e1root.log, users may encounter a [SEVERE] error message.
This error occurs when the value is incompatible with the data type of the data dictionary item associated with that field. Specifically, it can happen when typing an Alpha name in a field that only accepts a Numeric value.

Below are the errors captured in the e1root.log :

STEPS

1. Access the JDE web client URL
1. Open any application and input string data to the numeric field.
2. Review e1root.log
3. Observe the error "[INCORRECT_CONVERSION_TO_DBFORMAT] Formatting error" messages in e1root.log
