Symptoms
When an employee has 401K and 401K Catch Up within employee DBA instructions with Group Limit Maximum Percent and receives 2 checks in a payroll the second check has a negative 401K deduction.
Steps:
1. P059116 DBA setup (2) 401k and 401k catch up deductions with % method of calculation, same group limit code, and US Leg/Reg.
2. P059116 pay type setup of a bonus with Auto Pay Method B and Print Method 2 (print separate check)
3. Employee DBA Instructions P050181 assign the 401K and 401K catch deductions with Group Limit Maximum Percent to an hourly employee.
4. P051121 Speed Time Entry for regular time pay type 1 and for bonus pay type 500 with a lump sum amount.
5. P07210 Payroll Workbench run the employee through pre-payroll R07200. Row exit Payment Review and see the separate check for the bonus has a negative deduction.
6. Verify in stub detail the check for regular time correctly has a deduction amount for the 401k. But in stub detail the check for the bonus incorrectly has a negative deduction amount for the 401k.
The software is subtracting the 1st check 401k from the 2nd check 401k and using the difference (the negative amount) as the 401k amount in the second check.
