E1: DB: E1 Services Fail To Startup on V7R5 When Using EDRSQL (Doc ID 2966702.1)

Symptoms

You have two IBM i machines, one for production and one for non-production.  And most of your E1 tables including all of your E1 system tables reside on the production IBM i machine.  (Your E1 server for non-production therefore uses EDRSQL to perform database queries on tables that reside on the production machine.)

Both IBM i machines were originally on the same OS/400 version which was lower than V7R5.  However, recently you made a change to just one of the machines.  You upgraded your non-production machine to V7R5.  Since then, the E1 services on your non-production machine (on V7R5) fail to startup.  And the following relevant error messages appear in the jde log files for the security kernels:

 

In the IBM i job logs for the security kernels there are no error messages related to the issue.  If you see any "Cannot resolve to object QSOC." errors in these job logs, those errors are not related to the issue.  Those errors can be ignored.  They are related to OptiConnect and can be suppressed with the setting "useOptiConnect=0" in the "DB SYSTEM SETTINGS" section of the jde.ini file for the E1 server.
