E1: 43S: SRM Acknowledgement (P43S01) Returns Error “Line Can’t Be Processed With Partial Qty” (43S03) for Non-Stock Line Type (Doc ID 2972166.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to split a Purchase Order line with an “A” Inventory Interface on the Split and Acknowledge PO Lines Screen, of the SRM PO Acknowledgement (P43S01) program the following error occurs.

“Line Can’t Be Processed with Partial Qty” (43S03)
CAUSE. . . . . . Order line cannot be processed with partial quantity.
RESOLUTION . . . Certain orders cannot be split. Processing the order line with partial quantity will cause this order to split. Process the full quantity and make sure the remaining quantity is equal to or less than zero.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. In Line Type Constants (P40205), create a new Line Type SJ with Inventory Interface = “A” (Non-Inventory)
  2. Create Order Activity Rules for a Supplier Self-Service Orders with the OP Order Type and the new SJ line type.
  3. Create a Version of PO Entry (P4310) as follows:
    1. Line Type = ‘SJ’
    2. Override Next Status = 245
    3. Supplier Self-Service = ‘1’ (Activate)
  4. Sign in with the Buyer’s User ID and create a Purchase Order with the SJ Line Type with a Quantity of 400 units on the line.
  5. Now sign in with the Supplier’s User ID, enter SRM Acknowledgement (P43S01), enter Supplier Number and click View PO Headers button.
  6. On the Purchase Order Acknowledgement Header Screen a list of orders appears in the grid. Find and select the order that was just created.
  7. On the Purchase Order Acknowledgement Detail Screen select line 1.000 in the Split Line column.
  8. On the Split and Acknowledge PO Lines Screen, the Quantity on the Line is 400. In the grid enter a partial Quantity of 150 and Edit the Line.
    1. The Error “Line Can’t Be Processed with Partial Qty” (43S03) is displayed.
    2. The error is returned by the business function RetrieveAndValidateSplitLineNumb (B4302691) on line 619 of the code.
