E1: Need to Balance Inventory Amount With Inventory Quantity When Quantity is Reduced to Zero. (Doc ID 2972539.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 10, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Inventory Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Client requests a New Batch Application (UBE) which will discover As Of Records (F41112) where the Current Quantity in Inventory is Zero but the Cumulative Amount is Non-Zero and provide an option to automatically create adjustment transaction in the Item Ledger (F4111) and General Ledger (F0911) that will drive the Amount to Zero.

Below is an example from the client's system to illustrate the problem: NOTE: No Personal Data is Displayed.

  1. From the Inventory Menu (G4111) select the Item Ledger Running Balance (P41112)
  2. In Item Ledger Running Balance Inquiry (P41112) enter the following:
    1. Item Number
    2. Branch Plant
    3. Location
    4. Year = 23
  3. Click Find
    1. In Period Ending 7/31/2023, Cumulative Quantity went to Zero but Cumulative Amount is non-zero (-0.22)
  4. Client requests an enhancement that would allow them to run a Batch Program to create a Zero Quantity Adjustment transaction of +0.22
    1. This adjustment will drive the Item Ledger and General Ledger Amounts for this Item/Branch/Location to Zero.
  5. The client currently runs a custom UBE to Identify Zero Balance discrepancies in the As Of (F41112) table
    1. This program does not have functionality to automatically generate an Adjustment Transaction in the Item Ledger (F4111) and General Ledger (F0911) to drive the amount to zero.
    2. Report produces Excel Spreadsheet which revealed  64 records with Zero Cumulative Quantity but Non-Zero Cumulative Amounts As Of 7/31/2023.
    3. It is time consuming and cumbersome to enter 64 manual Zero Quantity Adjustments using the Inventory Adjustment program.
    4. Client is looking for a batch program to automatically create the adjusting entries.
