Symptoms
A new box for dental coverage was introduced in Canada T4 and T4A forms for year 2023.
The description of the new box given by the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) is:
Employer-offered dental benefits
- Required, 1 numeric
- T4 slip, box 45
For taxation year 2023 and after, indicate if you provided or did not provide access to any dental care insurance or for coverage of dental services of any kind to an employee, enter the appropriate code from the following list to indicate the level of access to services you provided:
1 - No dental insurance or coverage of any kind
2 - Payee
3 - Payee, spouse and dependent children
4 - Payee and their spouse
5 - Payee and their dependent children
Box 45 in T4 should have one of the codes given above.
Similarly, there is a new box in T4A with box number 015.
