E1: UDO: Umlaut Symbol Renders Incorrectly in User Defined Object Content Translation Revisions P9860WD (Doc ID 2973689.1)

Symptoms

The Umlaut symbol (e.g. ü) renders incorrectly as Ã¼ in User Defined Object Content Translation Revisions, P9860WD.

Steps:

Create a Form Extension and add a Language Translation as follows:

  1. Fast Path to P0911, Work With Journal Entries
  2. Click on the Form Extension icon
  3. In Form Extension Manager, right click on Document Type and select Rename Label
  4. Rename Document Type to Docüment Type

  5. Click Save
  6. Close the Form Extension Manager
  7. Close the P0911 application
  8. Fast Path to P98220U Work With User Defined Objects
  9. Enter P0911* in the QBE line, Short Description column and click find
  10. Select the Form Extension, right click and select Advanced then select Translations

  11. In Work with User Define Object Translations, enter G (German) in the Language field

  12. Click Add
  13. In User Defined Object Translation Description, enter the Translation, Object Description and Object Long Description

  14. Click OK
  15. In Work with User Defined Object Translations, right click on the Form Extension UDO and select Content Translation

  16. In Content Translation Revisions, P9860WD, note the Default Content Description for Docüment Type renders as Docüment Type

  17. In the P0911 Work With Journal Entries application, the Umlaut symbol renders correctly

 

Note: The issue is also replicated in a Composed Page with translation where Rüstscheindruck (SG) appears as Rüstscheindruck (SG) in Content Translation.
