Symptoms

The Value for the Message parameter in the Send Message Extended system function is getting updated as <Template> and it is leading to Error - /* CER ERROR #3014 : Unknown object type */. This is mostly observed when copy and pasting the ER (Event Rule) line containing the Send Message Extended system function but there might be other actions leading to the same issue.

This issue is observed in Named Event Rules (NERs), Event Rules in Form Design Aid (FDA) as well as in Report Design Aid (RDA).

 Steps to replicate:

  1. In a NER's Event Rules Design screen, add a line of code as below:
