Symptoms
Intermittently if there is a failure in the Employee Self Service W-4 process there is no notification to the user using employee self-service of a problem and there is no update to the workfile. The user receives a pop-up with the confirmation number even though the process was not successful.
Requesting to replace the electronic confirmation number to be passed to the user with an error message such as "Change Failed to Update F085303W" should the F085303W table I/O update fail.
Currently when there is a failure the user and HR are unaware the process failed.
Steps:
- Run Personal Employee Information Workfile Build R054101 with the processing option set to 1 for Build the I.R.S. W-4 Tax Form work table (F085303W).
- Interimittently an employee uses the P05410 version for process flow W42 to call 2020 W-4 Changes P085303A. The employee makes changes and presses accept (receives a confirmation number) but there is no update to the table IRS W-4 Form Work File F085303W.
- Verify from I.R.S. W-4 Form Work File Revisions P085303W that there is no update to the work table.
