E1: 49: Unscheduled Delivery Without Freight Preference or Billing Info Results in Blank Freight Handling Code in Added Shipment (Doc ID 2983638.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 30, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Transportation Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Where Freight Handling Codes are manually added to Transportation orders during entry, and an In-transit Load is created, the Unscheduled Delivery process fails to retrieve/copy over the Freight Handling Code from the shipment that is canceled during the process. This happens when there is no Freight preference defined, and where the Billing Information does not hold a Freight Handling code.

Steps To Duplicate:

  1. Locate or set up 2 Freight Handling Codes in 42/FR, one with blank special Handling Code and the other with code 2, for Payable Freight only.

  2. Raise 2 transportation orders, 1 that will be added to a Load, and one that will be manually keyed in during the Unscheduled delivery process. When entering the orders, manually assign the FRTH value in the order header – use the FRTH codes defined in step 1, different in each order. Both orders should be for same item and quantity, but different customers.

  3. Check that shipments are created for both orders, and that the Freight Handling codes are linked to the shipment.

  4. Add a new SI (In-Transit Load), and add the shipment from the first order. Route/approve/confirm the Load so the status is at 50.

  5. Follow the process for Unscheduled Delivery – take the Intransit / Disposition / Unscheduled Delivery row and form exists in sequence.

  6. Manually enter the address number that was used on the second order, the Quantity Shipped, and the order number generated for the second order.

  7. Complete the operation and check that the Load status moves to 80.

  8. Per design, the shipment number on the second order (used in the Unscheduled Del) is canceled, and a new shipment is generated. Check this new shipment – observe that the Freight Handling Code is blank.

  9. The scenario is similar to the one reported in BUG 30361680, but the fix made under that BUG only works where either a Freight preference is active, or the FRTH is present in the Billing Information – neither of those options are set in this case.
