E1: 32: Configured Item Revisions - P3210 Shows Error: Invalid Parameters for Sales Orders using Foreign Currency for Configured Items with More than Two Routing Steps (Doc ID 2984140.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 31, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Configurator - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When using a configured parent item that has more than one routing step and creating a sales order in foreign currency for it, the Message Center of P3210 shows the errors Invalid Configuration and Error: Invalid Parameters, which is misleading for the users because the same configuration used to create a sales order in domestic currency does not trigger these errors.
Both errors can be cleared by either taking Validate Configuration button in P3210 if the configured item is set as Non-dynamic or by populating the segment answer if the configured item is set as dynamic.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. P4101 / P41026 – Create a configured parent (Stk Ty = C, Ln Ty = W), a manufactured sub-assembly (Stk Ty = M, Ln Ty = S) and a purchased component (Stk Ty = P, Ln Ty = S).
  2. P3002 – create BOM for the mfg sub assembly.
  3. P3003 – create Routing details for the mfg sub-assembly. Make sure to add at least 2 operation steps.
  4. P3291 – define one (optional) segment for configured item.
  5. P3293 – create one unconditional R AIR to insert the routing steps of the manufactured sub-assembly.
  6. P4210 ZJDE0008 - Create a sales order for the configured item using domestic currency. The sales order is created without any error.
  7. P4210 ZJDE0008 - Create a sales order for the configured item using foreign currency (e.g. 1 EUR = 2 USD).
  8. P3210 – As soon as P3210 pops-up, the Message Center form shows the errors Invalid Configuration and Error: Invalid Parameters being triggered.
  9. P3210 - Once the user takes the Validate Configuration button for a non-dynamic configured item, the above errors are cleared, and the sales order can be created. If the configured item is set as dynamic, the above errors can be cleared by entering the segment answers.
