E1: 34: MRP Message Processing Not Able to Process More Than 997 Records in a Single Run (P3411/R3411) (Doc ID 2985579.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 07, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When have MRP messages of more than 1000 records, The R3411 (or P3411) will process only up to 997 MRP messages correctly and for the remaining messages over the 997 records, the system just marks the messages as processed (MSGT with processed = P flag and Message Action MSGA = Y) but fails to create related supply orders.

Steps:

  1. P3460 - Create forecast records for top level parent item, qty >= 1000, such as 1200.  Set Max order quantity to 1, so that will need in excess of 997 work orders.
  2. R3483 - Create planning messages; all data is correct. Verify that have 1200+ messages each for parent and component.
  3. P3411 / R3411 - Process more than 1000 'O - order' type messages to generate supply orders.
  4. P3411 - Check the MRP messages and notice that the first 999 messages have been processed correctly, all of them having work order numbers generated (WO Headers created) and the message type set to P = firm orders. All other MRP messages above 999 show the message type set to P - firm orders, the flag 'Y' = message processed and blank work order number(s).
