E1: 34: MRP (R3483) Creates Cancel Message and Ignores Blank Item & Blank Master Planning Family (MPF) in Branch Relationships (F3403/P3403T) (Doc ID 2996033.1)

Last updated on APRIL 23, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

MRP will create an unexpected cancel message on a transfer order (ST/OT) after having manually created a transfer order from a branch that does have a Branch Relationship record (P3403T) but only for Planning Family = blank and Item Number = blank. MRP will not suggest cancelling the transfer if the P3403T is set up for the exiting order’s Supply/Demand combination but with the Item Number field populated.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Set up an item in three branches: M30, M40 and S30 using the same Master Planning Family.
  2. Set up Branch Relationships (P3403T) as follows:
    - Demand Branch M30, Supply Branch M40 with blank MPF and blank Item Number.
    - Demand Branch M30, Supply Branch S30 for MPF 200.
  3. Create forecast demand (P3460) in branch M30.
  4. Manually create a transfer order (P4210, ST/OT) with From Branch M40, To Branch M30 (this is the Branch Relationship (P3403T) that is setup with MPF = blank, Item Number = Blank).
  5. Run MRP (R3483) over the item and all three branches.
  6. Inquire on the item in Detail Messages (P3411). Notice that MRP suggests cancelling the OT that was manually entered for Supply Branch M40, Demand Branch M30. There are new O Message Types for OT orders from Supply Branch S30.
  7. Add a new record in P3403T with Demand Branch M30, Supply Branch M40 and the Item.
  8. Re-run MRP.
  9. Inquire on the item in P3411. Notice that now there is no unexpected cancel message on the existing transfer order (OT).
