E1: GRID: "Export To An Existing WorkBook" Option Doesn't Override The Existing Excel File And Creates A New File With Append Data. (Doc ID 2996414.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 10, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

 When choosing the "Export To Excel::Export to an existing Workbook", it should override the data and the existing file instead of creating a new file.

It creates the file with the same name + (n). For Example:

Original File Name: testgridexport.xlsx

After Export:           testgridexport (1).xlsx

==Steps to duplicate the issue==

  1. Have an Excel file with some data in your local drive.
  2. Go to P01012 and select Grid Export :: Export to an existing Workbook
  3. Browse to the a file (step1) and this will display the correct file name.

  4. Once it exported, it will download a file to your local drive.  The file name is different now (e.g. testgridexport (3).xlsx).
