Symptoms

A new 9.2 setup being installed with separate enterprise and database servers

When running the platform pack installer on the server intended to be the database server, providing the initial details and then clicking install the process fails at 85% progress and the following error in seen on screen

Abnormal Program termination. An internal error has occurs. Please
provide the following files to Oracle support

installActions2024-01-11_02-52-55PM.log
oraInstall2024-01-11_02-52-55PM.err
oraInstall2024-01-11_02-52-55PM.out

In the installActions<timstamp>.log located under /mnt/app/oraInventory/logs the following error is seen

INFO: Setting variable 'bDiskSpaceErr' to 'true'. Received the value from a code block.
INFO: Setting variable 'bStopDiskSpace' to 'true'. Received the value from a code block.
SEVERE: Abnormal program termination. An internal error has occured. Please provide the following files to Oracle Support :

 

Steps

  1. Run the installer as per steps in section Running the Platform Pack Installer of Applications Installation Guide for UNIX with Oracle guide.
  2. Check the results on screen
