Symptoms

When adding an Equipment Master Record (P1702), if the user inadvertently enters an incorrect date in the Installation Date field (JDC), the system will create the Parent History (F1212) with a Begin Date (EFTB) with that same value. It is possible to change the Installation Date in program P1702, however the Begin Date in the F1212 remains the same. The Work with Parent History program (P12212) does not allow updates to grid records.

This issue can cause problems when changing the Parent Number (ASII) in the Equipment Master and may result in a "Parent Change Date Invalid" error (2989) if the date of the change is before the incorrect Begin Date in the Parent History Table (F1212).

The request is to add the ability to fix an incorrect Begin Date (EFTB) in the Parent History Table (F1212) after a user adds an Equipment Master (P1702) record with an incorrect Installation Date.
