E1: 07: All States (F) Withholding Not Calculating for Supplemental Pay (Bonus) (Doc ID 3009403.1)

Last updated on MARCH 15, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne US Payroll - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

For Regular time, if an employee is Exempt, neither Federal or State taxes should calculate for Alabama (01).
For Bonus/ Supplemental time, taxes should calculate for Federal and State for Alabama (01).
This also fails when testing Colorado and should be noted for all states.
.
If an Employee is Exempt for State (F) and Federal (A) taxes, and the Tax Overrides (P060120) shows Exemptions as 99 or 1, and the Additional/Flat Tax1 (FT01) field = F (An amount that replaces the tax computed from the tax table.), an Interim (P07210i) for Bonus/Supplemental Pay should calculate taxes despite the exempt status. It is not calculating State (F), which is incorrect.

Steps to Duplicate:
1. Create an employee for Alabama (01) in Employee Information (P0801).
2. Set Tax Overrides (P060120) as Exempt value 1 or 99 and Additional/Flat Tax1 (FT01) field = F for both Federal and State.
3. Enter an Interim (P07210i) for Bonus/ Supplemental pay, lump sum.
4. Review Pay Stub Detail and Tax Detail - Federal Taxes have calculated (correct) and State taxes (F) did not calculate which is incorrect.
5. Test again using the state of Colorado.

The taxes should calculate for the State (F) for Bonus/Supplemental pay in Alabama when exempt. Same in Colorado and all other states.
