E1: 42: R42800 Sales Update Completes Successfully But Work Center Message Shows Next Number Failure Error (Error ID 4456) (Doc ID 3009437.1)

Symptoms

R42800 Sales update ends successfully but there is an error in the work center messages program.
Subject: Error: Next Number Failure.
Cause: An error has occurred while attempting to retrieving a next number.
Resolution: Verify the calling process to X0010. Make sure the next number constants are setup to correspond to the way X0010 is being called.

Steps:

  1. P4210 - Create and process a sales order.
  2. R42800 - Run Sales update to complete the order.
  3. P4210 - Sales order is successfully processed and updated to status 620/999.
  4. WC - Review work center messages and observe there is an error message "Next Number Failure".
