E1: SEC: Self-Service Password Reset For User Having Role Excluded In *ALL Fails With Error "Sign In Error: Unable to send the password reset link. Please contact your system administrator." (Doc ID 3013180.1)

Last updated on MARCH 28, 2024

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Self-Service Password Reset feature is not working when two roles are assigned to user profile, one of the roles is not included in *ALL and no environment is assigned to that role. While resetting the Self-Service password, it throws the below error:

"Sign In Error: Unable to send the password reset link. Please contact your system administrator."

Below are the steps to reproduce the issue:

1. Create Role 'A' and Role 'B'
2. Don't assign any environments on Role 'B'
3. Assign both the roles (A and B) to User 'TEST_USER'. Make sure NOT to include Role 'B' to *ALL
4. When user 'TEST_USER' attempts to reset password it will fail.
