Symptoms

When select Equipment or Service Work Order with Valid Unit number and blank for inventory item, the work order cannot be changed, closed, or cancelled, due to hard error, 0267 - Invalid Item Number.

HARD ERROR: Invalid Item Number - Item number entered does not exist in the Basic Item Master

Error ID 0267

Steps:

  1. P13700 - Create new or locate existing equipment work order with Asset or Unit number, order start date, with or without auto attach of the parts list.
  2. P13714 - Select the record in P13700 and make a change in P13714, such as date change or status update.  
  3. Click OK to save changes.  System issues Error 0267 Item Number Invalid.  Error cannot be cleared, independent of entering a non-blank, valid item number.
