Symptoms
A shipment number is created for a backordered line where item is set to dual UOM and the quantity is changed.
A Dual UOM item exists and has little or no quantity available. Primary is LB and Secondary is PC/EA/CA etc. Conversions exist. An order is raised in P4210 for a specific quantity, the warning for backorder is correctly thrown. Before saving the order, the user changes the quantity in the grid (Quantity Ordered field) then saves the order. Re-inquiring, the order has been assigned a shipment number, but the line is still backordered.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- P4210 Processing Option 7. Override Transaction Unit of Measure on the Defaults tab set to PC
- Create an order for a Dual UOM item that has no Available quantity. Order is set on backorder for quantity 10, for example. The primary UOM should equal LB and the secondary UOM should equal PC.
- Drop off the line and force another edit line by changing the quantity to 20 in the Quantity Ordered field.
- Save the order and re-inquire. A shipment has been added to the order, yet the quantity remains backordered. The system should not assign a shipment number to a backordered line.
