E1: 42: FORMEXTNS: "Extended Field Warning" for Container ID (CNID) Column in P4210|W4210A Form Extension When Performing Copy Action (Doc ID 3035540.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to copy a sales order with extended field Container ID (CNID) in P4210|W4210A (Sales Order Detail Revisions), the below warning message appears and the value for the extended field is not saved. When creating or updating the sales order, value in the extended field Container ID (CNID) is updated as expected.

STEPS:

  1. On P4210|W4210A, create form extension.
  2. Select the below option on Form Extension Manager
    • Business view = Sales Order Detail Revision [V4211C]-Detail
    • Configuration = Enable Add and Update mode
    • Enable Override Add/Update.
    • Choose column CNID and click the + (add) button to display it on the grid.



  3. Save the form extension.
  4. Able to create and update the Sales order with CNID column populated.
  5. Record in F4211 table has CNID column updated with the correct value.
  6. Now copy a Sales Order, enter the CNID column, and save the sales order, the warning message is received as mentioned above.
  7. A new Sales order is created but F4211.CNID is blank for this copied Sales Order.
  8. This issue occurs with/without enabling the Override Add/Update feature on Form Extension.
