Symptoms

The Business function B0500690 Is String In String behaves differently when executed on a Windows local development client vs when executed on a Linux server. For example if you try to find space in string "abc "  on Windows development machine the function returns 1 but when the function is executed on Linux server,  it returns 0.

Issue can be replicated using the steps below:

  1. Create a test version of R0006P and override section layout to include a character type variable on report. (RV EnterpriseOne Event Point 01).
  2. Override event rules to call this business function on any event and pass the parameters as below:  
  3. Save.
  4. Run the report version locally on windows development machine and notice the BSFN returns 1 , RV EnterpriseOne Event Point 01 is printed as 1.
  5. Submit version specification of this version on Linux server.
  6. Run the version on server and notice BSFN returns 0, RV EnterpriseOne Event Point 01 is printed as 0.
