Symptoms
In P059116, an Overtime pay type is set up as exempt from tax type F for Alabama, P07TEW, state/local W-2 window from Tax Exemptions. When an interim check, P07210I or Pre-Payroll, P07210, is processed using the overtime pay type for a tax area other than Alabama, for example, tax area 19, the 401k amount is not excluded from 19/F or populated in the Excludable column when reviewed in Tax Detail, P07353.
Steps:
- Set up overtime pay type, P059116, with F tax type exempt from Alabama only in P07TEW.
- Enter an interim check in P07210I, or process Pre-Payroll, P07210, using the overtime pay type, for a state other than 01 (Alabama), for an employee with 401k deduction.
- Review the tax detail, P07353, and see that the state F record is not reduced by the 401k amount and that amount is also not in the Excludable column.
