E1: 12: Asset Split (P1206) Is Updating the Amount - Net Debit Posting 12 (AND12) on All the AA Ledger Lines of the Account Balances (F0902) Table Used By the Fixed Assets Accounts (Doc ID 3045064.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 15, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Fixed Assets - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running P12106 Asset Split over a specific asset having depreciation on the previous fiscal year, the split process is updating the F0902.AND12 field on all the AA ledger transaction lines on the previous fiscal year, instead of updating only that AA Ledger line that was updated when posting domestic transactions on the asset's accounts.

Steps to duplicate:

  1. Use P1201 Asset Master to enter a new asset.
  2. Run R12855 User Defined Depreciation to depreciate the asset for more than one year and post the depreciation batches to Fixed Assets.
  3. On P0010 Company Setup do check the asset's company is set with Post Account Balances by Currency ON.
  4. Go to P0911 Journal Entry to enter a foreign currency transaction on the ledger AA, on the accumulated depreciation and depreciation expense accounts used by the asset, then post the transaction to G/L, to update the F0902 table.
  5. Run R098201 Annual Close Report and R12825 Asset Account Balance Close to close the year on G/L and Fixed Assets.
  6. Run R12855 on January next year, then go to P1204 Work with Assets, to the Row exit and select P12106 Asset Split to split the asset on that period. Notice the P12106 is updating the F0902 Account Balances table on the previous fiscal year, on the F0902.AND12 (Amount - Net Debit Posting 12) column, on all the AA transaction lines, not only on the AA ledger line used when posting the asset depreciation, meaning the AA ledger line used for domestic transactions on the asset's accounts.
