Symptoms
Per KM Solution E1: 42: Enhancement Available in Sales Order Entry (P4210/P42101) to Automatically Return Pick Date from Available to Promise (ATP) or Cumulative Available to Promise (CATP) (Doc ID 2555461.1), an Enhancement is available in the 9.2 release that streamlines the sales order entry process by allowing for automatic population of sales order dates without having to access the Supply/Demand Inquiry form. When the Available to Promise Date is after the original request date, it makes sense to back order the quantity to the future date. When the order is placed for a future request date, one beyond the ATP date, it no longer makes sense to change the request date to an earlier date, as that may not meet client requirements, to ship earlier than expected.
Per discussion with development, there is no logic in the implemented enhancement to conditionally adjust the available To Promise (ATP) depending on the original request date being an earlier or a later date. To introduce this additional logic would be considered and net new enhancement, not a bug in the original enhancement.
This enhancement request is entered to request that ATP date only be used to adjust the request date for those dates that cannot be met in time or a delayed relative to the original request date. That a request date not be adjusted to an earlier date. This enhancement request will serve to better the relationship and coordination between vendor and customer.
