E1: 42: Backorder Release Programs (P42117 and R42118) Do Not Send Workflow Notifications for Sales Order Changes (JDESOCHNG) (Doc ID 3047745.1)

Symptoms

JD Edwards Backorder Release programs (P42117 and R42118) do not trigger Audit Log and Approval Process Workflow Notifications for Sales Order Changes (JDESOCHNG) even though these programs make changes on the Sales Order Detail Line.

Steps to Duplicate:

Note: All Data displayed below is from Oracle/JD Edwards Test Environments. No actual customer data or personal data has been revealed.
  1. Item Availability Inquiry (P41202) shows no inventory on-hand or available for an item in Branch Plant 30.
  2. Setup a Version of Sales Order Entry (P4210) with Workflow Activated.
    1. Approval Hold = AH
    2. Sales Order Entry Workflow = 1 (activated)
    3. Use Audit Log for Sales Order Changes = 1 (activated)
    4. Approval process required for sales order changes = 1 (activated)
  3. JDESOENTRY is activated in Workflow Design
  4. JDESOCHNG is activated in Workflow Design
  5. Create a new Sales Order 20148 for the Item with No Inventory.
    1. Sales Order goes on backorder
    2. Extended Amount field is not populated for backordered lines.
    3. Click the green checkmark to save.
  6. Find order in Customer Service Inquiry (P4210)
    1. Check the Extend Backorder Quantity checkbox to check the order amount.
  7. Create an Inventory Adjustment for 5 units.
  8. Run Backorder Release (R42118).
    1. Backorder is released on Sales Order 20148.
  9. Check Customer Service Inquiry (P4210).
    1. The Backorder Release only changed the Backorder Quantity to Shippable Quantity.
    2. Backorder Release did not change the Amount due from the customer.
  10. Check Process Task Monitor (P98860) after running Backorder Release.
    1. Sales Order 20148 did not have a Workflow Notification for the sales order change.
