E1: 42: Inventory Commitment Preference Does Not Work With RMA
(Doc ID 3052190.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 09, 2024
Applies to:
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Management - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Client uses the Inventory Commitment Preference to determine which Branch Plant will supply an item based on the Customer Ship To Address and Item Number. This works fine for new sales orders, but is ignored for replacement sales orders created on Warranty Returns through Return Material Authorization. Even though the RMA Defaults (P40052) calls a version of P4210 that has the Inventory Commitment Preference activated, the Shipping Branch Plant comes from the Shipping Branch Plant that is populated on the Sales Order Tab of RMA Defaults and ignores the Inventory Commitment Preference. If you attempt to leave the Shipping Branch Plant Blank in RMA Defaults (P40052), a Blanks Invalid Error Appears when you try to save the record.
