E1: 46L: Partial Quantity License Plate (LPN) is not Picked/Suggested (Code 3448 Quantity Remains) by Process Pick Request (R46171) if the Partial LPN is the Only LPN in that Location (Doc ID 3058149.1)

Symptoms

When processing R46171 to create Pick Suggestions for a LPN controlled item, the R46171 - Picking Audit Report shows Usage Code 3448 - Quantity Remains and leaves a partial LPN quantity unpicked if that LPN is the only LPN/Quantity in that location. Partial LPN quantities that exist in a location where there is also a Full quantity LPN or another Partial quantity LPN will be picked. When this happens, quantities that should be committed to fill or partially fill this sales order are not included in the pick suggestion.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. LPN Item is created and defined within WMS/LPN applications following standard set up.
2. Define Picking Instructions for Picking using Random Rules. In this example, Tie Breaker is 1 - The system uses the locations containing the smallest available quantity first.
3. Set a few Locations with the Random Characteristics related to the Random Rule set in the Picking Instructions.
4. Since this LPN related, use Adjustments P4114 set to create License Plates to add full and partial LPN quantities to these locations. One of the locations should have only a single partial LPN quantity. The other location should have either Full LPNs, more than 1 Full LPN, more than 1 Partial LPN or a mixture of Full & Partial LPNs.
5. Create a Sales Order for this item where the order quantity is greater than the quantity available or adjusted in during the previous step. This will create a Pick Request.
6. Submit Process Pick Request (R46171) to create a Pick Suggestion for this Pick Request.
7. All full and partial LPNs you adjusted in for this item will be picked with the exception of the Partial LPN that is the only LPN in that specific location. The R46171 report will show code 3448 - Quantity Remains for this location/quantity of the item.
