(Doc ID 3058927.1)

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
R3483 - Data selection in combination with generation type gives unexpected results.
How should the data selection be correctly defined for Generation Type 5?
The plan is for the items with Planning Code 1 separately from JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and import work orders. The dependent items with Planning Code 2 are planned using MRP within JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, with Generation Type 5. For the performance reasons, Support Team has been consulted.
Doc ID 2252184.2 recommends selecting both Planning Code '1'(master schedule items) and Planning Code '2' (Planned by MRP items) to ensure the correct MRP run when using Generation Type 5.
However, Doc ID 626043.1 suggests that only Planning Code '2' should be included in the data selection, which may contradict Doc ID 2252184.2's guidance and potentially lead to incomplete or incorrect planning results.
What is the correct approach to defining data selection for Generation Type 5?
