E1: 43: Enhancement Prevent PO Receipt Journal Entries (P4312) from Recalculating UOM Conversions and Use the UOM Conversion from the Original Purchase Order (Doc ID 3059063.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Procurement and Subcontract Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a UOM conversion is changed after creating a purchase order, PO Receipts (P4312) does not use the original UOM conversion from the purchase order to write journal entries and Units. Instead, the F41002 - Unit of Measure Conversion Factor table is re-read and the new/latest UOM Conversion record is used to write Units (U) to the general ledger (P0911/F0911).

The purpose of this enhancement is to prevent using the updated UOM Conversion (P41002) and to use the UOM Conversion factor that is associated with the purchase order.

Example:

UOM Conversion of 1 EA = 10.00 LBS was used to create the purchase order.

Before the purchase order is received, the original UOM Conversion record is deleted and a new UOM Conversion added (P41002) for:

1 EA = 9.00 LBS

The transaction UOM is then recalculated in PO Receipts (P4312) with the new conversion (1 EA = 9.00 LBS) when the conversion used to create the purchase order was 1 EA = 10.00 LBS. When a purchase order contains a large quantity, the Units (U) field in the F0911 is either understated or overstated.

Possible solution:

Add a processing option to PO Receipts P4312 to either use the new/latest UOM Conversion Factor or, use the original UOM Conversion Factor from when the purchase order was created. A new history table may need to be created containing From and Thru Dates so that the original UOM Conversion record can be accessed.
