As per current design Item Substitution happens as per item availability and not the on-hand qty existing in Item Availability - P41202 / Item Location File - F41021. Customer would like Substitute processing to be performed based on substitute item’s on-hand quantity and not availability. Customer has a large number of work orders that have the substitute item on the parts list. It results in a large quantity of commitments, making the substitute not available, but at the same time there is enough on hand qty for the items.
