E1: 51: Tax Area Invalid (0376) Error in P51006 (Job Cost Master) using Visual Assist to Return GeoCode on Tax Area-Payroll (TA) Field (Doc ID 3059831.1)

Symptoms

When adding a Vertex GeoCode to the alias Tax Area-Payroll (TA) in the P51006 (Job Cost Master Revisions), the error Tax Area Invalid (0376) is received. This is because when the GeoCode that is selected using the visual assist on this alias is returned, the format is the State and the first two digits of the County. The GeoCode is not returned to this field when selecting the record in the P05005.

STEPS

1. Sign into a Vertex environment with the proper credentials.
2. Navigate to the P51006 (Job Cost Master Revisions) and find an existing job.
3. Select the job and navigate to the Date/Other tab.
4. Click on the Tax Area-Payroll (TA) value in the Job Payroll Information section and use the visual assist to bring up the P05005.
5. Input the sate, city and/or zip code and select the record.
6. The error Tax Area Invalid (0376) is received. This is because the GeoCode is not retrieved. The value returned into the TA alias is the state plus the first two digits of the county. The GeoCode should be input into this field.
