E1: 41: Item Reclassification (P4116) Allows One Side Journal Entry to be Created (Doc ID 3062555.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 06, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Inventory Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Item Reclassification Error - Using the Item Reclassification application (P4116), where only a "FROM" (F) line is entered, the system correctly issues error 039F "Transaction Quantities Do Not Balance" ; the user can change the same line to a "T" (TO) value and complete the transaction, with no requirement to add another line. This can be done even where the processing option for Quantity Validation (Process tab, #5) is set to error with a quantity imbalance. This creates an unbalanced transaction.

STEPS TO DUPLICATE:

  1. Set the P4116 processing option for Quantity Validation to value 2 (error). Add a new transaction and populate the first line with the "F" (FROM) value, choose an item and quantity.
  2. Attempt to save the transaction; error 039F for Transaction quantities is thrown (correct).
  3. On the same line, change the F (FROM) to a T (TO) and save the transaction - the system allows the completion of this transaction.
