Symptoms


When attempting to enter the description field on a previously created Direct Ship Purchase Order (OD) line in the 9.1 environment, the following error is returned.

Open Cursor for cache B4302180F157220 failed error (078M)
CAUSE . . . . A cursor was not able to be opened because the Cache Init was not successful or cache B4302180F157220 was empty.
RESOLUTION. . Verify that the Cache Init was successful and that records exist in your cache prior to the Open Cursor. Check the JDE.LOG and JDEDEBUG.LOG for additional information.

The error is returned by Purchase Order Detail Cache Function (B4302180).

Steps to Reproduce:

Note: the issue was reproduced on one purchase order only
  1. In Fastpath enter P4310|GB019.
  2. Find the specific  Direct Ship Purchase Order <PO Number> OD.
  3. Click the green checkmark to enter the Purchase Order Header.
  4. On the Purchase Order Header screen click the green checkmark to enter the Purchase Order Detail.
  5. On the Purchase Order Detail screen, three lines are retrieved to the grid.
  6. On the first line, click into the Description 1 field.
  7. The error “Open Cursor for cache B4302180F157220 failed error (078M) is displayed.

The issue has only been reported two times but it is occurring in the production (live) environment.

Both times it happened it was with a similar OD purchase order for the same Supplier & Ship To address.
