Symptoms
If a By Product is produced by two process parents, but one of them has 100% Cost % set in P3404 - Co-Product Planning/Costing Table and the other one is set with a zero Cost %, upon running R30812 - Current Cost Simulation over the two process items, the X cost of the By Product is added from both parent processes.
The issue can be replicated at will using the following steps:
- In P4101 / P41026 set two process items with the same CO and BY Products for each of them.
- In P3002P set þat Cost and þat Resource as 0.70 for CO Product and 99.30 for BY Product.
- In P3404 - Planning Table for the BY product, set the cost % as 100 for the first process and 0 % for the second.
- Run R30812 over both process items.
- In P30026 check the costs of the By Product and notice the incorrect results: the X cost is doubled (i.e. $19.86).
- Run R30812 over the 100% cost process item only.
- P30026 for by item after R30812 is run over first parent (process) shows the correct X cost value (i.e. 9,93).
