Last updated on JANUARY 29, 2025

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a foreign currency receipt is applied with a foreign currency invoice which was generated from the Sales Update (R42800), even though the exchange rate and foreign amount are exactly same between the invoice and the receipt, the Standard Receipts (P03B102) creates a rounding record (Document Type RR).

STEP:

  1. In the Tax Rules by Company (P0022),“Sales Order Taxes at Order Level”option is checked.
  2. In the Sales Order Entry (P4211), create a foreign currency sales order. Currency: VND, Base currency: USD, Exchange Rate = 25290

    - Foreign Unit Price = 4,637,110 VND
    - Foreign Extended Price = 4,637,110 VND
    - 10% Tax

  3. Do Ship Confirm, Print Invoice, and run Sales Update (R42800). An AR invoice generated as follows:

    Invoice from SO
    - Foreign Taxable Amount = 4,637,110
    - Foreign Tax Amount = 463,711
    - Foreign Gross Amount = 5,100,821
    - Domestic Taxable Amount = 183.36
    - Domestic Tax Amount = 18.34
    - Domestic Gross Amount = 201.70

  4. Also create a foreign tax invoice from the Standard Invoice Entry (P03B11) with same amount and exchange rate. An AR invoice generated as follows:

    Invoice from A/R
    - Foreign Taxable Amount = 4,637,110
    - Foreign Tax Amount = 463,711
    - Foreign Gross Amount = 5,100,821
    - Domestic Taxable Amount = 183.36
    - Domestic Tax Amount = 18.33 (*)
    - Domestic Gross Amount = 201.69 (*)

Note there is 0.01 domestic tax amount difference.

  5. In the Standard Receipts (P03B102), create a foreign currency receipt with same foreign amount and exchange rate.
  6. Apply the invoice from the SO. The system generates a 0.01 amount rounding RR record.
  7. If apply the invoice from A/R, then no RR record generated.

Expected Behavior:
R42800 converts tax amount into domestic amount just same as A/R does
