E1: 77Y: CPP2 contribution is doubled for an employee with 2 T4s (2 tax IDs in history) when a different employee has an adjustment made to their T4 and Fixes Blank QPP2 If EE Works In Quebec (Doc ID 3073397.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 21, 2025

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Canadian Payroll - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

CPP2 contribution is doubled for an employee with 2 T4s (2 tax IDs in history) when a different employee has an adjustment made to their T4. After adjustment is entered, the build is reset, saving adjustments, and then re-run.

Steps To Duplicate

  1. Build the T4 work file for multiple employees at least 1 with 2 tax IDs in history (to generate 2 T4 forms).
  2. Enter an adjustment to a DIFFERENT employee (with only 1 T4).
  3. Reset the build, saving adjustments.
  4. Run the build again, and the employee with 2 T4 forms now shows a doubled CPP2 contribution
Side Note - The alternate scenario to share is this fixes an issue with QPP2 showing blank after resetting with saving adjustments as well in the above scenario if the employee worked in Quebec.
