Symptoms

The Brazilian Federal Revenue Service has published instructions under RFB number 2229 (October 2024) relating to the CNPJ, the “Cadastro Nacional da Pessoa Jurídica" or National Registry of Legal Entities.

Under a change planned for July 2026, and in response to growing demand for CNPJ numbers, the format will be modified to include letters and numbers (alphanumeric).

EnterpriseOne applications that interface with the CNPJ system (particularly the XML Nota Fiscal ) may need to be adapted to handle the new requirement.
