Symptoms

When using Copy button available in P48201 - Work With Work Orders form to create a new work order based on an existing / available work order, P17714 - Work Order Revisions is also creating both parts detail lines and labor detail lines outside of the (TO) work order header, although the available JDE feature for creating all WO details of the 'TO' W.O. is delivered through the Row Exit > Copy WO Details option.
In addition, the Requested Date and Start Date of the Labor details are based on the Requested Date and Start Date values of the original / FROM work order rather than the Requested and Start Dates entered on the new / TO work order.
By design, 'Copy' button should only create work order header details (F4801 / F4801T). If using Copy button on the P13700 - Work With Equipment Work Power Form that calls P13714 - CAM - Manage Equipment Work Orders application to copy an existing maintenance order, the system only creates the header details of the TO work order. In the same manner, if using Row Exit > Copy WO Details option on the P13700, the program P13714 creates both work order part and labor detail lines.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. P48201 – Review a maintenance work order.
  2. P17730 - Check if there are Parts details available for this maintenance work order. Note the dates, quantities etc.
  3. P17732 – Verify if the maintenance work order has Labor details attached. Note the dates, estimated labor values etc.
  4. P48201 – Select the maintenance work order and take Copy option from the main menu. The system opens the P17714 form.
  5. P17714 – Next to the ‘Copy From W.O.’ field notice that both Parts Detail and Labor Detail flags are checked with a green checkmark because the original / FROM maintenance work order has both Parts Details and Labor Details attached.
On the Description and Failure Description enter the desired values.
  6. P17714 – Navigate to the Planning tab and fill in the Requested Finish Date, Planned Start date etc.
  7. P17714 – Navigate to Accounting tab and notice that both Est. Labor (Alias: AMLC) and Est. Material (Alias: AMMC) fields are populated (incorrectly). If the Parts and Labor Details are not attached, both Est. Labor and Est. Material fields are blank in the WO header.
Save the (new / TO) maintenance work order.
  8. P48201 – Retrieve the TO maintenance work order, select the order, and take Row exit > Parts Detail option. The system opens the P17730 screen.
  9. P17730 – Notice the parts detail lines have been copied from the original maintenance work order, although this is not desired. Also, the processing options of P17714, P17730 and P17732 applications are not set to create Parts & Labor details automatically.
  10. P48201 – Find the TO maintenance work order, select the order, and then take Row exit > Labor Detail option. The system opens the P17732 screen.
  11. P17732 - Notice the labor detail lines have been copied from the original / FROM maintenance work order, although this is not requested. Furthermore, the Requested Date and Start Date of the routing details are not correct because they do not take into account the Requested and Start Dates entered on the new / TO work order but there are based on the Requested Date and Start Date values of the FROM work order.
  12. When testing the same steps by using P13700 > P13714 applications, the system creates the desired work order details correctly:
    - If Copy button is used, then only the work order is created,
    and
    - When Copy WO Details (from Row exit) option is used, then all work order (Header, Parts and Labor) details are created.
