E1: 17: Contract Revisions - P1721 Creates New Service Contract Version with Blank Business Unit (Alias: MCU) in Copy Mode (Doc ID 3076990.1)

Symptoms

When doing a copy of a service contract to create a new contract version and the processing option # 8. Header Business Unit is blank (= Use Header Business Unit from original contract) in the Copy Defaults tab of the P1721 version, the newly created contract version has the Business Unit (Alias: MCU).

STEPS:

  1. P400951 – Check the Default Location & Printers settings and make sure that the user does not have any default Branch/Plant set.
  2. IV: P1720 / P1721 – Make sure the P1721 version that is used to copy the service contract has the processing options # 11. Business Unit in the Defaults tab and # 8. Header Business Unit in the Copy Defaults tab set to ‘blank’.
  3. P1720 – Create a new contract (or find an existing contract) and upon saving the service contract detail line, re-inquire on the service contract .
  4. P1720 - Select the service contract and take Copy button. P1721 screen pops-up.
  5. P1721 – Notice that all service contract details from the previous contract version default into the new service contract version, including the Business Unit (Alias: MCU). Save the new version.
  6. P1720 – Re-inquire on the Contract Number and select the new contract version. P1721 screen pops-up.
  7. P1721 – Notice that the new service contract version does not have the Business Unit field populated anymore, although it was expected to default in from the original contract.
