Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

Overview

The system maintains a current on-hand inventory balance for each stock item. When a transaction is performed that affects inventory for an item, the system interactively updates the on-hand balance and creates a record detailing the transaction.

The purpose of the Item Balance/Ledger Integrity (R41544) UBE is to compare the current on-hand balance and inventory valuation of an item to the cumulative quantity and cost of all transactions that have occurred. The report identifies discrepancies between the two so changes necessary to resolve the discrepancies can be made.

For additional insights on how the Item Balance/Ledger Integrity (R41544) report columns are calculated, why variances occur and how to resolve common variances, please review KM document 1599285.1 Case Study - How to resolve Item Ledger-Item Balance Integrity Problems.
