Purpose

Rating based on stop charges means that the carrier will charge based on the number of stops required to deliver the goods on a load. This type of rating applies only to loads. Loads consist of one or several shipments that are to be picked up from one or multiple origins and be delivered to one or more destinations, thus typically requiring more than just one stop to make the delivery.
