Purpose

Multi-Shipping and Receiving Locations have standard preferences functionality for use with the Warehouse Management System.

Use these preferences to accommodate warehouses with multiple shipping or receiving docks and specified dock numbers for shipping and receiving goods. To use, you must enter the preference name in the Preference Profile (R40400) processing option on the Versions Tab for the sales order and purchase order entry programs. The system uses these preferences based on criteria entered during sales order or purchase order entry. The preference can be set up for the carrier, mode of transportation, shipment weight, and supplier.

Note: The Shipping and Receiving Locations preferences are used only with Warehouse Management. For Receiving (21) and Shipping (22) preferences to resolve, Warehouse Control check box must be activated in the Branch/Plant Constants (P41001). See 2092089.1 for the enhancement request to use Preferences 21 and 22 without having to use the warehousing module.
