Purpose

Overview

The following transportation preferences are resolved at the time a shipment is created (in the sequence listed):

  1. Customer Freight Preference (32)
  2. Mode of Transport Preference (34)
  3. Carrier Preference (33)
  4. Options and Equipment Preference (31)

The Document Set Preference (30) is resolved whenever shipment documents are printed and the Document Selection (P49591) is called.

Note on advanced preference processing:  As of release 8.10, new functionality was added to increase the flexibility of preference profiles.  All of the Transportation preferences are now available as advanced preferences.  The system will resolve advanced preferences first, then look for standard preferences. For a detailed discussion of advanced preference functionality see 1209344.1
