Purpose
Overview
The Sales Order Entry program may be set up to put orders on hold for various reasons. The Workflow system is designed to send a message to the person responsible for reviewing orders on hold for a specific Hold Code when an order is put on hold.
For example, the Sales Order may exceed the credit limit set up in the Customer Master and therefore need to be put on hold. The system will send a message to the person responsible for checking the credit hold code. This person may then go into their Work Center and take a link to the release order holds if they chose to release the order hold.
Another example is the order may not meet the minimum amount for an order as set in the Customer Master so it may be put on hold. Again, the system will send an email to the person responsible for this minimum order hold and allow them to take a link to release the order.
When a Salesperson/commission is attached to a newly entered sales order or quote order, the Workflow system is designed to send an acknowledgment email to both customer and salesperson, informing them about the newly entered order, if their email addresses are active. The customer will be notified about the new order number. The salesperson will be notified about the order number and type, customer number, person entering the order and the order date.
